OPS were conducted in the following Areas: Laser Park, Honeydew, Radiokop and Northgate.

 

TRT Members:

On the 17th of April 2014 at 02:45am, the above TRT members met up at the Londoloza Head Quarters and departed at 03:00pm to conduct a TRT operation:

Proactive Patrols Radiokop

The Tactical Response Team conducted vehicle patrols through Radiokop as a house robbery was recently reported in the area. Street patrols were done and a drive through was done at Caprivi 1 and 2.

It was noticed that SAPS was at Ashwood Manor for a burglary. We patrolled the area for a further 30 minutes but did not spot anyone suspicious

Laser Park

The Tactical Response Team did a sweep of Laser Park as there have been incidents of the power boxes being opened and the power being turned off. Buildings are then broken into when the alarm system’s battery runs flat. Power boxes were checked to ensure that nobody has tampered with them.

Northgate

Early morning patrols were done around the Northgate Mall to check for suspicious vehicles and people.

All entrances into the mall were checked as well as service areas and the underground parking area.

No problems were encountered.

Jackal Creek

As the Tactical Response Team left Northgate a call came through from the dispatcher for back up required at Jackal creek as the perimeter fence had been breached. The TRT members combined with the reaction vehicles at Jackal Creek and as the vehicles arrived at the breach the suspects were seen fleeing through the fence. A bicycle was recovered and returned to the control room. The owner was notified.

Next TRT operation will be conducted next week.
